The device now features Intel® 7th generation Core processors, improved graphics capabilities, increased battery life and the elevated security offered by Windows 10. Intel 7th Generation Core Processors
The updated DURABOOK R8300 R3 (Kaby Lake version) features i5 and i7 variants of Intel 7th generation Core processors, delivering more computing power to mobile workers operating in extreme environments. Processor options available include the Intel Core i5-7200U (3MB cache, up to 3.1 GHz), the Intel Core i7-7500U (4MB cache, up to 3.5 GHz), and the Intel Core i7-7600U with vPro (4MB cache, up to 3.9 GHz).

The DURABOOK R8300 R3 is engineered to operate reliably in the most extreme environments. The device meets military standards and has other critical certifications for drop, vibration, ingress, salt fog, hazardous environments, temperature, humidity, and altitude.

Improved Graphics
The Intel HD 620 Graphics package, designed specifically for Intel Kaby Lake processors, enhances visual computing, does not require an add-in card, and offers faster frame times, low energy use, and superior image quality than the HD 520 found in Skylake processors.

Multi-Shift Battery Life
Mobile workers in extreme environments do not have the luxury of plugging-in and charging their batteries. The R8300 is designed to address this challenge with a hot-swappable, dual battery option, now providing up to 21 hours of power, for multi-shift performance.

Greater Security with Windows 10
Security is top-of-mind for organizations with a large mobile workforce. Windows 10, the most secure Windows ever, addresses this concern by offering users a layered defense to help protect, detect, and respond to security threats. The Department of Defense (DoD), for instance, is in the process of moving all branches of the military to this operating system. Running a 64-bit Windows 10 Professional platform, the DURABOOK R8300 R3 is a secure mobile computing solution users can trust.

Other security features of the R8300 include optional Absolute's Computrace® software, Intel® vPro technology, an integrated smart card reader, fingerprint scanner, TPM2.0 and a Kensington lock slot.

The R8300 features a 13.3" 1050 nit sunlight readable XGA (1024x768) TFT LCD touchscreen, quick-release HDD, and a waterproof and backlit keyboard. Skylake Platform
To meet the needs of government customers that are not ready to move to Windows 10, GammaTech continues to offer the DURABOOK R8300 R2 (Skylake version), which features Intel 6th generation Skylake Core i5 (6200U) and i7 (6500U) 15W U series SoC processors with integrated Intel HD 520 graphics.
