TOLEDO, Ohio, US — March 13, 2018 — Today, more and more commercial and industrial equipment manufacturers are seeking solutions to improve adaptability and tablet like interactive functions to products, while also reducing costs and time to market. An easy and reliable method for both can be the inclusion of a smart panel PC as a control center and HMI for any equipment — as long as it's durable enough to last, flexible enough to work for virtually any use case, and interfaces simply with existing equipment and designs. That's why Estone Technology developed the PPC-4207 & PPC-4210 smart panel PCs — enclosed, drop-in panel PC solutions featuring powerful and efficient NXP i.MX6 processors, a wide variety of features and I/O options, and support for various Android, Linux, and Yocto Linux operating systems.

The all-in-one panel PCs, operating on the NXP i.MX6 ARM Cortex 9 platform with long life-cycle support, can be configured to run Android 6.0.1, Debian Linux, and Yocto Embedded Linux, depending on the requirements of the application. Both the 7" PPC-4207 and the 10" PPC-4210 feature an attractive, durable plastic bezel that provides IP65 waterproofing in front, and a projected capacitive touchscreen up to 400 NIT Brightness. In addition to the bright screens both units also feature several programmable touch buttons that can provide consistent functions no matter what's being displayed on screen, and NFC connectivity option for use with security badges or other secondary items.

The PPC-4207 and PPC-4210 are both equipped for the widest possible variety of use cases, with a wide variety of I/O standards and options. Both units come standard with one RJ45 GBE port as well as an optional second GbE port, one RS-232/485/CAN/GPIO terminal block, plus an additional internal header for an additional RS-232/485/GPIO input, several USB 2.0 ports in both Type A and mini-B sizes, a micro HDMI port for secondary screens, and an SD card slot. Users requiring more power input options will find benefit in the internal expansion header, which can provide built in support for additional options like 8-36V DC wide range voltage input, or 802.3af POE (Power over Ethernet), allowing the unit to be placed and operated in areas where running other power cabling could be challenging or impossible.

There are also a variety of ODM options for user input, with optional integrated HD cameras, microphones, and hardware pushbuttons in the bezel, making the unit a great choice both as an HMI as well as for building automation, communication and industrial control, and more.

The small form factor board at the heart of the unit operates on an NXP i.MX6 1GHz Dual Lite or Quad processor, 1GB on-board DDR3 RAM, and on-board NAND flash memory. It has internal audio headers and offers optional stereo speakers, a watchdog timer, and supports RTC battery backup. Both units offer optional VESA 75x75mm mounting, aluminum frame and full glass flat frameless enclosure options.
