Hand Held Products Dolphin 9550
Ruggedized flashlight-style handheld (by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)
Hand Held Product's Dolphin 9500 Series, which replaces the older 7400 Series, provides full Windows Mobile/ Pocket PC capabilities in the traditional flashlight form factor. This means a powerful 400MHz Intel PXA255 processor and all the Windows Mobile development tools for complex applications, but also the choice of three different keypads (35-key numeric-shifted alpha, 43-key alpha-shifted numeric, and full 56-key alpha/numeric. It also means the availability of a handy pistol grip. Despite being a bit larger and heavier than the PDA-style devices, the 9500 Series has the same IP64 rating and 5-foot-onto-concrete drop spec. The 9500 Series comes in four models (9500, 9501, 9550, 9551), each with different configurations and options. One drawback is the lesser memory configuration compared to the 7900 Series.
On December 20, 2007, Hand Held Products was acquired by Honeywell and became Honeywell Imaging and Mobility, a new line of business within Honeywell's Security Group.
