MicroSlate MSL-1500

Rugged flashlight-style handheld
(by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)

The MicroSlate MSL 1500 Series Portable Data Terminal is a rugged handheld for field warehouse management, retail, healthcare, and logistics applications. It is a technologically up-to-date device that's highly configurable both in software (via Windows CE .NET) and hardware (via Compact Flash and SD slot options). A 16-key numeric keypad allows for rapid data entry. The MSL 1500 has integrated 802.11b; Bluetooth, GSM/GPRS, CDMA/1RTT are available as PC Card-based options. The device can also be ordered with a RFID package, 1D or 2D barcode scanner (there are dedicated scanner buttons), a 1.3mp CMOS camera, GPS and a variety of docks and chargers. The MSL 1500 is very rugged and can survive 5-foot drops to concrete.
