Industrial ruggedized Palm

The SPT 1800 Series is a ruggedized version of the SPT 1550 with wireless and barcode reader options that's ready for industrial use. While technologically obsolete and significantly larger and heavier than any standard Palm, the SPT 1800 is still a very small and handy device, even compared to earlier data collection terminals. And it has impressive environmental specifications. The SPT 1800 is based on an ancient (but very adequate for the job) 33MHz Dragonball VZ processor, sufficient RAM and ROM, and a powerful battery pack. The 1800 includes one-dimensional bar code data capture and offers a variety of wireless local and wide area network options. A variety of cradles provide wireless as well as LAN and modem communications capabilities. Symbol renewed its Palm OS license, and these devices are here to stay.
